Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Cause And Remedy For Pain In The Esophagus ?
My husband has been experiencing pain in his esophagus with and without food. Sometimes the pain is completely gone and then soon returns. He swallows just fine and doesn t complain of food getting stuck no nausea or vomiting no bloody stools no hoarse voice. He does not get acid reflux at all and didn t even know what that meant when I asked him.
Hi Jeffers,
Maybe we can guide you better if you could answer a few more questions :
How long has your husband been experiencing this pain?? Pain in the esophagus means he feels pain in the throat or is it in the chest?? If there are no other symptoms accompanying with this pain and it is very recent then it could simply be pharyngitis or esophagitis due to some infection. And if it is not continuous pain, but related to food intake then it could as well just be an acid reflux. I think you should see your physician and get it examined.
Take care.
