What Is The Cause And Remedy For Stabbing Pain In The Eye Post Cataract Operation In A Glaucoma Patient ?
I am about 6 weeks post cataract surgery with a mono focal implant. I also take lumigan at nignt and timolol in the morning for glucoma. Last night had stabing pain in eye. It started about 10 minutes after using the lumigan drops. It feels some better today but still irratated. I have not taken the lumigan yet. I have used blink for dry eyes throughout the day. Should I call the doctor? Not use the lumigan? I have some prednisolone left from the surgery... Would it be safe to use one drop of that this evening? thanks for your help, jim
Hi
How long are you using Lumigan and is it a fresh bottle? I feel you irritation is due to side effect of Lumigan eye drops. Stop using Lumigan for a day, use only the lubricant and look for any worsening of symptoms(like redness ,persisting pain, hazy vision). Before using Prednisolone eye drops talk to your ophthalmologist as you are a Glaucoma patient and need to be very cautious in using steroid eye drops.
Take care.
