What Is The Cause And Treatment For Oral Thrush When Suffering From Fever?
Tongue I have been sick for the past little while (sore throat, sinues, fever .. etc) and have noticed that my tongue feels and looks a little different then usually. The only other time I have experience anything like this was when I got my tonsils removed. I can scratch off the white (hair looking stuff) off my tongue but I have no idea what its from or how I can prevent it.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems like you are suffering from yeast infection of tongue known as Oral Thrush or Oral Candidiasis and can occur due to a number of conditions like poor immunity, prevailing other oral infections, dry mouth, intake of steroids [oral and nasal] and antibiotics etc.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case of oral thrush anti-fungal medications lke Nystatin mouthwash, clotrimazole lozenges and frequent intake of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic can help.. In case if it does not resolve in 14 days oral antifungals like Fluconazole or Itraconazole can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
