What Is The Cause And Treatment For The Lumps On Knee And Thigh?
I have a pea sized lump under skin in left knee cap that is also movable and sensitive to the touch. Knee also aches. Also have pea sized bump on right upper thigh toward groin, if I rub or bump it there is pain and also the bump will turn blue as if going to bruise, will remain discolored deep under skin for 12-24 hours. Any thoughts?
Cause of pea sized lump under the skin in the left knee is indicative of skin cyst or baker's cyst. Cysts are commonly caused by infection & clogging of the sebaceous glands.
You can take NSAIDS, Ibuprofen or combiflam to get relieve from pain & inflammation. Steroid injections are effective.
Applying cold packs or compression bandage, keep your leg elevated on a stool while sitting & on a pillow when on bed.
You are suggested to get clinically examined & blood & imaging tests done, your treatment(by medicines & surgery) will depend on the severity of the pathology detected.
Bump near the groin could be a hernia/lipoma. You can apply ointment thrombophob on it to prevent it from getting blue(due to blood clot formation). Get clinically assessed you may require surgery. Get treated at the earliest.
