What Is The Cause And Treatment For Ulcers In Vagina?
I have had genital ulcers 7 times in my life, I m now suffering them again. They are not sexually acquired, and I have had every test imaginable to find out what they are, but with no positive results. My labia minora swells and the ulcers are incredibly painful. What is causing them and how can I stop them happening? Thanks.
I understand how these can be frustrating and restricting, but I shall go ahead and list all the possible causes in my opinion for the genital ulcers and how you can treat them:
+Sexually acquired genital ulceration
+Non-sexually acquired genital ulceration (NSGU):
-Reactive type: These usually occur along with or follow a systemic infection and usually resolve themselves (i.e. they are self-limiting)
-Recurrent type: These usually occurs frequently (e.g. before a period every month, etc.) . These aphthous ulcers usually occur due to some underlying infection (mostly found to be Epstein-Barr virus, Behcet's disease, genital Crohn's disease, etc.)
Please speak to your doctor about considering NSGU and pursue the infections that can cause it.
Best wishes.
