What Is The Cause For Blood In The Urine?

I have a deep bruise like pain on my right side front and had blood in the urine. The pain is on the right side below the ribs. I also have nausea. I have been passing clots and when I urinate it hurts towards the end. When I cough it hurts even more.

Hello and thank you for asking HCM.

I have read your symptoms and i understand your concerns.

In few words,your symptoms are:
-pain under your ribs,in the right quadrant
-blood in your urine
-pain at the end of urination

These symptoms correlate with some problems:
-kidney stone or uretheral stone
-urinary tract infection
-kidney tumor (the least posssibel diagnose)

If i was your doctor i would recommend an ultrasound of your urinary tract for the diagnosis.

The pain that you describe,under your ribs in the right quadrant can be due to the kidney problem,but since in that region there are other organs like liver,gallbladder, colon the ultrasound will held us for a diferencial diagnosis.

Also i would reccomend an urine test to confirm or to rule out an UTI.

The treatement will be given according by the sesults of the tests.
