What Is The Cause For Having Sharp Shooting Pain In Chest After Drinking Alcohol And Smoking Cigarettes?

Every time I drink strong percentage alcohol and smoke cigarettes I get shooting, sharp pains in my chest, I can't stand at all when this happens, I'm normally then sick to the point blood and some clear liquid comes up and the next day I'm sick all over again...?

The sharp and shooting chest pain is due to oesophagitis which is the inflammation of the lining of the food-pipe. It occurs because both alcohol and nicotine irritate the lining of the food pipe and stomach. It is possible that you are also having reflux of acid from the stomach to the food pipe, which is aggravating your symptoms. The vomiting is also because of this only. Please cut down on your alcohol and tobacco intake as you may end up having oesophageal tears if this continues for long. Acid production inhibiting medicines like ranitidine, omeprazole etc can be used for symptomatic relief.
