What Is The Cause For High Heart Rate After A Physical Activity?

Hi, my husband just pushed our van out of a snow bank, about half hour ago and his heart rate is high. According to my blood pressure machine, his heart rate is 194. Now it is down to 183. Is there cause for concern? He is 50 years old and in relatively good health but is not an active person.

Hi i read your concern.

When untrained people do hard work the principal heart reaction is tachycardia. So this is a normal reaction.

However i suggest to run the following exams for a cardiac check up because sedentary life and your husband age are risk factors for heart disease.

I recommend to do as part of cardiac check up:
Cardiac ECHO
Stress test
Holter monitoring

Hope it wac of help!
