What Is The Cause For Not Getting My Period After Sex Ans MSRA Infection?
hi, had a c-section a little bit over 2 months ago and got infected with MRSA. the first period after c-section came as regular as the pregnancy never happened. a little bit over month ago I got very sick (6 days with high fever) and developed huge abscess in my abdomen which was removed exactly month ago. i was put on iv antibiotics for MRSA (14 days) and i am still on antibiotic now - oral Clindamycin - 14 days ( took 5 days till now). My period is late, should've gotten it around 27th of Jan and I haven't gotten it till now. Small chances that I am pregnant although had sex twice with my husband after delivery. Both times he ejaculated outside (didn't have any contraceptive tablets given by my doctor because of MRSA thing) Can my late period be related to this?
Although it is possible that you are pregnant, I doubt that is the reason for your late period. It is very common when you are being treated for severe illness like the infection that you describe, to have a delayed or missed period. It also can take several months after having a baby before your periods return to a normal schedule. I would guess that the illness is the most likely reason for your missed period. Over the next 6-8 weeks or so, your periods should return. If they don;t, call your doctor. Also, if you are breastfeeding, your periods may not return to normal while you are breastfeeding. I hope this was helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
