I had a vein removed from my leg about 2 weeks ago. I have been wearing compression hose since the surgery. In the last few days, I have a very sore spot with some pain and swelling in my calf area. I was wondering if I should be concerned as to a clot and contact my doctor. I do have a follow this Friday.

If I were your treating dermatologist then would have suggested you to apply plain antibacterial cream such as fusidic acid or mupirocin (latest is retapamulin) and to take pain killer tablet by mouth for reducing the intensity of pain and redness. You can additionally take antihistamine benadryl or loratadine by mouth.
