I have swelling in my neck on the right side running from below my ear down along the gland area, with a lump near my esophagus. My inner ear started itching constantly about two months ago and has not stopped. My Dr. prescribed AmoxiClav. I just finished the prescription but the swelling, lump, and itching are still there.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching inner ear. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to eustachian tube dysfunction and inflammation and infection of lymph nodes. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without delay otherwise it can spread to middle and inner ear and complicate the condition . Doctor may order throat swab test , CT scan , viral culture test , blood test and examination with otoscope to rule out condition like pulsatile tinnitus. You can start with antibiotics , decongestant , expectorant along with anti inflammatory medications . For now take steam twice a day and do warm saline gargles .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
