What Is The Cause Of Bleeding During Bowel Movement?
Sir, I m serving Defense officer of age 36 years. Since last 2 yrs I have blood while passing stool. I was administered inj.polydochonol last year at military hospital after which blood stopped for 3 months. After that blood started again. I'm taking Tab. Autrin daily to maintain HB levels which drops if I stop. Earlier I used 2 take heavy alcohol (4-5 pegs/day). Since last 6 months I have stopped Alcohal totally.
I do not want to consult further in Military hospital as may affect further career prospect for being med unfit. Being posted remote corner of country have no access to civil doctors at present.
Plz advise some alternate med till the time (at least 1 year) I posted in some better place to get treated in civil.

Hi,
Injection polidocanol is sclerosant and only a temporary measure to stop bleeding from piles/hemorrhoids (blood while passing stool) you are suffering from.
Bleeding from first- ( bulge into the anal canal and may prolapse beyond the dentate line on straining) and second-degree ( prolapse through the anus but reduce spontaneously) hemorrhoids often improves with the addition of dietary fiber, stool softeners, increased fluid intake and avoidance of straining.
Persistent bleeding from first, second, and selected third-degree hemorrhoids may be treated by rubber band ligation (done by a surgeon).
Tab Daflon (flavonoid) is used for treating hemorrhoidal disease. Daflon is a venotonic (it increases venous tone) and a vasculoprotector (it increases resistance in small blood vessels) and can benefit some people. It is a prescription drug.
