What Is The Cause Of Blood In My Urine?

Dear Dr. I have a urinary infection...why was there blood in my urine? When they did a cat scan the Dr. Said my pancreas was a little inflamed but not to worry it could be due to the infection and to be aware if it becomes tender. What does that mean and will the antibiotics of Sephardic help?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

You have blood in urine ...because of UTI...
In UTI mucosa is infected , inflammed and damaged ......
So in UTI blood can appear in urine along with pus cells ....

Secondary to UTI you could have bacteremia means presence of bacteria in blood. ...
So it can lodge in pancrease and lead its inflammation .....

Full course of antibiotic taken to clear infection...

Drink more water....

Fruit juice more ....

Avoid excess spicy foods ....

Cranberry juice useful....

If pancreatitis occurs secondary to UTI physician needs to be consultated...

Take care ....
