What Is The Cause Of Craving Ice Cubes In An Elderly Person?
What can a heart stroke patient who is in good 91 year old health with current home health assessment do regarding eating ice cubes so that I, his daughter, know he is not anemic or has a thyroid problem since he is complaining of cold feet recently? I know the ice cube eating and the cold feet sound like unusual combinations...warmer room temp helped some. Thank you.=
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The symptoms you are describing appears that it could be caused by Vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 deficiency commonly manifests as neurological symptoms particularly in peripheral nerves. Kindly supplement Vitamin B12 available in the form of capsules or injection along with intake of Vitamin B12 rich foods in the form of curds. Gradually, the symptoms should get better and subside. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S.
