What Is The Cause Of Crippling Pain Before Bowel Movements?
Hello Dr., I am a 56 year-old, 2 weeks and 2 days post total laparascopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy for large fibroids, ovarian cyst. n addition pathology found endometriosis and adenomyosis and surgeon said my uterus was quite large. Problem is severe, almost crippling pain right before bowel movements. Pain lasts about 30 - 45 seconds but does not hurt as feces is actually coming out -- just before, it seems, as it is moving into position for actual elimination. Then pain goes completely away. No other pain or problems. Started having this pain about 5-days post-op.
Hello Thank for asking to HCM I appreciate your concern, any operation have post procedure pain and that long last up to few days and once the wound healed and sealed then no pain would be there, in your case if the pain is prior to defecation then it might not be due to hysterectomy but it could be due to intestinal infection or other lesions first of all infection need to be ruled out and for that antibiotic can be tried on tentative basis and best drug of choice would be Tab Amoxicillin 500 mg thrice in day, if the symptoms persist then it may requires investigation, hope this information helps.
