What Is The Cause Of Darkening Of Child S Bottom Lip?

I have noticed that my 2 year old s bottom lip has darkened. The appearance is as if he has eaten a purple popsicle. No other visible changes. Appetite is consistent (well, as consistent as you can expect a two year old to be ). What may be the cause?

Hi...Darkening only of the lower lip can be either a normal phenomenon or a pigment related disorder of the skin. The other possibility could be Peutz Zegher Syndrome. I suggest you consult your pediatrician regarding this or upload images here on this website so that we will be in a better position to help you.
