What Is The Cause Of Hard Mass Extruding From Anus That Does Not Bleed But Causes Discomfort?

I know someone who has a hard mass approximately 1 1/2inches long about 3/4 inch high and 3/4 inch wide extruding from the anus. It does not resemble a hemorrhoid and it does not bleed and causes him extreme discomfort when he sits down and extremely sensitive to the touch. what could this be.
