Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
I understand the query. If you have missed a period, have
pregnancy symptoms and a faint positive test, chances are that you may be pregnant.
The pregnancy test gives positive results about 1 1/2 weeks after the missed period in women with regular periods. The first morning urine sample must be used for best results. If the test is taken before this, it may come negative or faint positive. Other possibilities are that it is a false positive meaning that there is no pregnancy and the symptoms are due to something else and the test is positive because of a faulty kit.
Other condition producing similar results are an ectopic pregnancy or a
missed abortion [ baby is not alive but is inside the uterus].
If there is pain, I suggest that you visit a gynecologist and get an examination to rule out ectopic pregnancy [pregnancy in tube]. An
ultrasound will be helpful. If the Ultrasound is negative a repeat pregnancy test after 7 days using the first morning sample is desired.
Please do not worry. These are common issues. You will get to the diagnosis in a few days.
Hope this helped.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
