What Is The Cause Of Headaches That May Or May Not Be Treatable By Pain Medication?
my husband is getting headaches almost daily. They are beginning at the base of his skull and continuing up his skull. Sometimes pain medication works if taken soon enough, but if not, they almost debilitate him. He is very stubborn, but should I try and force him to see a doctor?
Hi...Since the headache is not subsiding with pain medications, I suggest you see a physician .Headache can be due to a variety of causes like migraine, high BP, inflammation of the sinuses, uncorrected refractive error(spectacles) etc.It may also be due to undue stress or tension.Less commonly some pathology in the brain may be the cause.Clinical evaluation by a physician will give a clue to the possible cause and investigation may be accordingly recommended. A CT scan of the brain may also be needed.
