What Is The Cause Of Pain During Periods?

hi, im 22 and had the copper coil fitted 3months ago. when im on my period i get pressure pain in the bottom of my belly, and the pain can go down my leg and up my back which causes pain when i need to go to the toilet and to move when i sit down. any idea? thanks L.

Hi,

Pain during periods is due to muscle spasms which can be treated with antispasmodic but in your case it is also to be ascertained if the copper coil is at the correct position or not. Hence, I would suggest an ultrasound.
