What Is The Cause Of Pain In Abdomen And Bloating?

Hello. I started having a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen on Monday morning. It was only real sharp for a couple minutes, then it was more just achy. After research, I thought maybe it was my appendix and got nervous! By Tuesday night, my lower abdomen felt tight, kinda like I had been doing several sit ups. By Wednesday night, it had moved to all over my abdomen (higher & lower). Then I felt really bloated and was very uncomfortable. No specific areas of pain, just all over my stomach area. I usually feel fine when I wake up but the bloating and irribility would come on as the day went out and is terrible by night. I didn't think I am constipated because I've pooped several times..none yesterday, but I don't usually poop every single day anyways. Now, when I go to the bathroom and try to poop, most of the time I just pass a little gas and yellow mucous looking stuff comes out. I've never had this before. Not even the gassy bloated feeling but not much gas passed. This started early Monday morning and its now Saturday. Can you give me an idea of what's going on with me? It's starting to really worry me. Thank you.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of sharp pains in lower right abdomen on Monday morning for a couple of minutes, then achy and then got nervous. By Tue lower abdomen felt tight, by Wednesday the the pain moved all over abdomen, there was bloating and irritation, passage of little gas and yellow mucus, now it is Saturday, wants to know what this would be.
As per the history you have provided the progression of the disease over 6 days indicate the following probable diagnosis:
Entero-colitis meaning infection of the intestinal tract giving spreding pains, bloating and so on as you have mentioned well.
I would advise you the following:
Tests of the blood, stool and urine.
X-ray of the abdomen to decided whether this is intestinal gases, obstruction or so.
Ultrasound of the abdomen.
A course of an antibiotic, Metronidazole.
Add on probiotics, activated charcoal tables and any symptomatic and supportive treatment as per the clinical evaluation by a Doctor, examination and reports of the investigations .
This will cure you.
