What Is The Cause Of Stomach Pain And Cramps At Night?
I randomly get woken up in the middle of the night with horrible sharp stomach pain and cramps that come and go. I'm pretty sure it's from gas and usually It ends up either going away after I have a bowel movement which is always painful when this happens or it will just go away after an hour or two by itself. There is no pattern and I can't think of any food causing it. I do have a problem with constipation a lot. I never go to the doctor because when it's over I don't usually have the problem again for awhile. When I do get it the pain is so severe I consider going to the emergency room but It's hard to get up and walk so I just stay in bed. If it is just occasional bad gas causing it is there something I can take those nights it decides to hit and wake me up in pain? The pain is pretty localized in my lower abdomen as well.
Hi and welcome to HCM, This may be due to appendicitis or renal colic. You have rule out these conditions by doing ultrasound of abdomen. Drink plenty of water. Amoebic colitis is also remote possibilities. Do motion ova and cyst study.
wish you speedy recovery Thanks
