I have been gasping for air quite a bit lately. I don t feel like I can get a full breath of air no matter how deep a breath I take. I am not stressed out so I don t think this is due to anxiety however the more I notice it the worse it gets and I feel like I am starting to get anxious about it.
I have been through your query and I can understand your concern. Breathlessness can be a caused by pleural infection, smoking (Bronchitis), anxiety, and in severe cases of asthama.
Your history suggests, the cause is anxiety, You need to stop worrying about it and be calm. You need to see the root cause of anxiety that is bothering you right now like any job problems, etc.
I would suggest you to have a visit to a psychiatric specialist, even cardiologist, and also a pulmonary specialist.
Moreover, if I were your doctor, I would have prescribed Bronchodilator provided you were not allergic to them. Meanwhile, You can Stop or Reduce the Caffeine intake.
Thanks and Regards,
Dr Himayun Mir
