What Is The Cause Of Tummy Pains And Downward Pressure In A Pregnant Lady?

I m 37 weeks pregnant. Last night I had sex and me and my partner noticed a funny smell.. In the night I woke up a but wet but wasn t sure if this was just because I d had sex or if it was anything else... I ve had a few tummy pains and a lot of downwards pressure. But baby has been moving.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Sometimes intercourse during the advanced pregnancy can lead to premature rupture of membranes.
So, if the pain persists and if you notice leakage of water like fluid, better to consult gynecologist once and get examined.
Go for ultrasound.
If no leak identified during examination and all ultrasound findings are normal, no need to worry.
Better to avoid intercourse till delivery.
If premature rupture of membranes with amniotic leak is identified, management should be planned accordingly.
