For about 2 years now I have frequent urination problems... I have had recent tests done and they found trace protein in my urine, bacteria present but no growth, high WBC count as well... what does this mean?? I have been on antibiotics and anti-fungal drugs and symptoms are not going away...
Hi There are multiple causes for your condition, If you are a male and above 40 years, prostate enlargement may be a common reason. Other causes are urethral stricture, stones in bladder etc. Intake of too much of coffee, tea, cocoa products can make it worse. Anxiety and stress can be a significant cause in both males and females In females stones in bladder, uterine problems, prolapse etc can be a cause.
You will need a full work up including ultrasound of urinary tract, urine to be checked for tuberculosis and possibly a cystoscopy. Please see an urologist. If no cause can be found then there are tablets we can give to reduce the frequency
