What Is The Chance For Normal Delivery If Placenta Is Fundal Posterior?
i am 8 months pregnant and my placenta location is fundal posterior. My doctor said there is 50% chances of normal delivery. i want to ask can this be shifted to anterior position and can i deliver normally? WWW.WWWW.WW
A fundal placenta means that it is attached in the upper part of the uterus. It does not matter if it is anterior or posterior as long as it is in the upper part the chances of delivery are same. Also it does not shift its position as it is embedded in the uterus.
Chances of normal delivery are hampered only if the placenta is in the lower part [ placenta previa] and not the fundus. So there may be some other reason that the doctor may have said about 50% chances. Please discuss it with your doctor and clarify.
Wish you a safe delivery.
