What Is The Consequence Of Stopping Concor?

Can you help?

My father develop high blood pressue back in February 170/120, he could usually get this back to 135/90 something by doing an hour’s walking exercise twice a day, but after a month of effort, this remain the same. He visit a Doctor and he starts prescribing CONCOR 5mg for him , the effect is

Reduce BP to 120/90 and heart rate to 60

Problem is he feel dizzy and is not as alert as before. He hate this.

Frist thing in the morning, if he measure BP, remain higth at 170/120

Can he reduce the intake to 2.5 mg (i.e. half the tablet as CONCOR does not come in 2.5mg) – what is the consequence if he stop taking CONCOR.
