Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My twelve year old daughter has had a lingering back ache. She had a kidney infection last summer so I thought that s what this might be. I took her to doctor and they said no kidney infection but she had a small amount of blood in her urine sample and they were sending it out for testing. She is still complaining about her back. What could this be?
Hi.... I do not think the back pain is related to the urinary infection or kidney infection which your daughter had. This sort of lingering back pain could be due to heavy school bag or abnormal position in which she sits at school or while doing homework or due to sudden lifting of heavy weights which she is an accustomed to.
You can give Paracetamol in the appropriate dose as of now and if it is still persisting after 48 hours or increasing then I suggest you consult your pediatrician regarding this.
