Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Abortion can be done for
pregnancy less than 10 weeks by use of pills 'Mifepristone'and 'Misoprostol'. However, you need to do it under strict medical supervision.
Kindly follow the steps described as under properly.
1. First you should swallow one tablet of Mifepristone with water.
2. 24 hours later you should put 4 tablets of Misoprostol under your tongue and keep the tablets there for at least 30 minutes, until the tablets are dissolved. You can swallow your saliva. After 30 minutes you can swallow the remains of the tablets.
3. 4 hours after using the first dose of Misoprostol, you should put 2 more tablets of Misoprostol in under your tongue. Again keep the tablets under your tongue for 30 minutes. Do not swallow the tablets until 30 minutes.
Mifepristone medicine blocks the effects of
progesterone, the hormone that is necessary to maintain the pregnancy. Misoprostol is the medicine that will expel the pregnancy.
If you experience bleeding after using Mifepristone, it is very important that you continue the protocol and use Misoprostol.
After intake of Misoprostol, you will experience cramping and bleeding. The bleeding will be heavier than your regular period and can last as long as 12 hours.
Abortion with pills is a process that takes about 15 days to complete. This means that it is normal for you to experience bleeding 2-3 weeks after taking the pills, but all your symptoms should diminish in their intensity gradually.
Normally symptoms of pregnancy should also disappear within 5 days after using Misoprostol.
If you do not experience bleeding and if you have any other unusual symptom after taking these medications, you need to seek medical attention promptly.
You need to take a follow-up
ultrasound scan after 2 weeks to ensure that all the products of conception has been expelled out completely.
Kindly consult Gynaecologist in this regard for appropriate management.
Hope the information provided helps.
All the best.
