I am 58 years old and was diagnosed with a chiari 1 malformation about ten years ago. While I had severe headaches growing up and into my twenties, I was diagnosed with migraines. When diagnosed with Chiari 1, I saw a neurologist who said my MRI looked like the diagnosis and asked me a lot of ?'s about symptoms. At the time, I had none, so he said no need for treatment. About four yrs ago I was diagnosed with glaucoma. My field vision tests show my vision is 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other, but I'm getting some slightly fuzzy vision periodically. At my last visit with my eye specialist on 3/31/17 pics of my eye has changed to the point that I'm having laser surgery to relieve the eye pressure, which registers good at the time Jo the spots. Is there a correlation between the chiari malformation and the glaucoma. When is it necessary to be treated for the chiari, and how is it treated. I have read something about decompression. It looks very serious. Is that the only treatment?
