Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
My friend your symptoms sound like those of
cervical radiculopathy. the pain would typically affect your arm and would radiate- as in seems to move from the shoulder region to the arm region.
i hope there has been no history of trauma.
i would suggest an
x ray of the cervical spine- ap and lateral. and if possible, an
mri of the cervical spine.
i would also like to know exactly what has been wrong with your hand. you said its a congenital problem. we need to know this as some disorders go in groups.
meanwhile you should meet a local dr to start you on
pregabalin or
gabapentin. they are both antiepileptic drugs that will help you get relief in pain. and a tab of amitryptiline is a better painkiller fir you, if this turns out to be a radiculopathy.
you will also need to meet a physiotherapist for regular exercises, if this proves to be cervical radiculopathy in the xray/mri
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
