Good morning, I have been experiencing itching in both ears for about 6 weeks. seems to get progressively worse and traveling into the canal. and have tried mineral oil a few times which seems to relieve the itching somewhat. is there anything else I can do? is this concerning?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have itching in ears which could be due to ear wax accumulation, TMJ problems, ear drum injury or perforation. I would suggest you not to panic about this. You should start with proper antibiotic for that particular bacterial. For ear infection you can use ciplox or gatiflox ear drops for local application. You should go for culture and sensitivity test of ear discharge to know about specific bacteria. You should take syrup gelusil-plus every 4-6 hours for better relief of your symptoms. If ear infection attacks are more than 3-4 per year then you should visit ENT specialist once as it may cause permanent hear loss, facial palsy, delayed speech development. Surgery is the treatment option in that case. Put some anti-fungal drops for some time. Keep ears dry and clean.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
