What Is The Cure For Tight Feeling In Knee Area?

I just drove 6 hrs. and stopped once. My knee area is tight and doesn't feel like I'm getting much circulation. I did a lot of walking this past weekend but just noticed this when I got home about 4 hrs. ago. I can stretch my leg out however, it's tight and feels a little swolen. Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

From the given description of your symptoms, I am of the opinion that it could be
"Physiological" (Normal) response, as the soft tissues around the joint (ligaments and tendons) will become tight & stiff followed by a period of prolonged immobilization (like in your case after 6 hours of drive).

Simple moist heat fomentation over the painful and stiff area will help in resolving your problem.

If you don't find any improvement in your symptoms, consult an orthopedic surgeon for an evaluation and appropriate treatment.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
