What Is The Difference Between Elevated Hemidiaphragm And Diaphragmatic Eventration?
What is the difference between elevated right hemidiaphragm and eventration. Nurse said eventration is not a problem like elevation. I had appointment for shortnessofbreath that doesn't resolve with asthma meds etc. Shortness of breath with little exertion, such as when I'm folding laundry. I am female age 63.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Elevated hemidiaphragm or eventration of diaphragm both are different things. Elevated diaphragm is secondary to other lung pathology like pleural effusion, lung collapse, lung cancer etc. Diaphragm eventration is defect in diaphragm itself. Most of the time it is congenital (birth defect). Traumatic chest injury cancer also cause eventration. So in my opinion, you should definitely consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, CT thorax to identify pathology.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
