What Is The Dosage Of Crocin And Ibugesic For Fever In A 10 Year Old?
My daughter who is 10 yrs old has been suffering frm viral fever since 2 days. Initially her temp was 102.5 F but in 24 hrs increased to 104 F. If i keep her only on crocin the fever doesn t subside even after 4 hrs ( alongwith sponging) but if i keep her on crocin ds 9ml nd ibugesic plus 6ml then only the fever comes down . I need to repeat this then after approx 10 - 12 hrs. Am i doing the right thing? I sometimes fear as many say the two med should not b given together but this only works for my daughter. Also she has recurrent fever every month or two which lasts for 3-4 days but subsides without an antibiotic. Pls suggest.
Fever of a few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about the duration if the kid is active.
Paracetamol can be given only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
