What Is The Dosage Of Levothyroxine For Hypothyroidism When I Have Been Experiencing Breathlessness?
i have hypothyroidism 9.05 i have been experiencing shortness of breath and i dont know the right dosage but after using 50 mg levothyroxine my heart rate increased i use 25 mg before that when it showed 6.7 recently i stopped using and went for test and got 9.05 help me figure out my problem shortness of breath is my major problem
Since your TSH levels returned back to 9.05 on stopping Levothyroxine, you will have to continue taking Levothyroxine (especially, if you are symptomatic for hypothyroidism or Anti-TPO is positive) starting at a lower dose; therefore, you might not experience an increase in heart rate. Kindly consult your endocrinologist for the accurate dosing of levothyroxine.
I would suggest a detailed evaluation for your shortness of breath depending on the onset of your symptoms, precipitating and relieving factors. Hypothyroidism itself rarely may weaken the muscles of respiration which may aggravate breathlessness. You may please carry out a complete blood count test to rule out anemia. You may also consult a Cardiologist or a Pulmonologist for further evaluation of your shortness of breath.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
