Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If you take
insulin or other medications for
diabetes, you may need to change the dose. Ask the doctor who prescribes your diabetes medication what you should do the day before and the morning of your procedure. Tell your doctor you will be drinking a sugar-free clear
liquid diet the day before your procedure.
If you take
Metformin or a medication that contains Metformin, don’t take it the day before or on the day of your procedure. On the day before your procedure, take 2
Bisacodyl tablets by mouth with a glass of water. Drink 1 (8-ounce) glass of the mixture. Do this every 15 minutes for a total of 4 times.
When you’re finished, half of the
MiraLAX mixture will be left. Save the rest of it in the refrigerator for the second half of your preparation.
On the day of procedure Take 2 Bisacodyl tablets by mouth with a glass of water. Then, start drinking the second half of the MiraLAX mixture. Drink 1 (8-ounce) glass every 15 minutes until you finish the bottle.
You can continue to drink clear liquids until 4 hours before your scheduled arrival time.
If symptoms do not improve please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
