What Is The Dryness And Brown Lining Around My Lips?
A couple of weeks ago had severely dry lips and was desperate for relief as my lips are normally very moist. I had tried all moisturizer I could think of, but it seemed I couldn t get my moisture back. I used tea tree oil, and felt a tingling, and left it there...next morning when I woke up, my lips felt swollen and felt very smooth and abnormal. My lips stayed swollen for days then when the swelling went down it appears my lips returned to the severe dryness and now have this thick brown color around the lining of my bottom lip and my upper lip. I am wondering what happened and will my lips return to their normal color of pink and will my natural moisture come back. I am reading that this could have caused a chemical burn and the dryness is so irritating and abnormal for me.
It may be cheilitis most probably. Kindly consult the dermatologist. There may be some cause. Dry weather, cosmetics, lipstick, soap, vitamin deficiency, sun exposure..etc might lead to such problem.
I would suggest...
- apply emmolient on lips - avoid triggering factor - vitamin supplements - folic acid tablets - iron preparations - mild steroid with antibiotic cream to apply
I hope this would helpful to improve the problem..
Thanks.
