What Is The Effect Of Smoking On The Stent After A Heart Attack?
my mom had a heart attack this morning cuz of a blockage in her atery they put a stent in and she is now stable they told her she needs to quit smoking cigerettes like today. now would weed affect the stent as cigerettes would.. there not saying really and i keep seeing stuff about nicotene being bad but would weed be ok for her to smoke with out causing damage like nictene woul?
I read your question carefully and I must say I am a little perplexed.
Smoking weed is no substitute for quitting smoking, it would only add another factor in the equation not solve any problems.
I don't know of any studies to precisely show the effects of weed on blood vessels and stent, but I doubt it is a positive one. The negative effect of cigarettes is not related only to nicotine, nicotine is the component responsible for the addiction part, but there are many other burning chemical products present in smoke which are responsible for damage to blood vessels and should be present when smoking weed as well.
So smoking weed is not a good idea for anyone, especially for someone who's just had a heart attack.
I hope to have been of help.
