Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am seeking some advice for a finger injury (central slip totally severed) I sustained in August. I had a second surgery to remove adhesions on December 6th. Since then I have undergone therapy, mostly having splints made and ultra sound for the scaring, and it is now stronger and i lost some straightening abilities to the tune of 24 degrees. It is still painful at times and very stiff in the mornings-and shortly after loosening it completely. I m just a little concerned and I feel the doctor is a better surgeon than he is a doctor. I keep it wrapped for compression at night and as much as I can during the day, as I have returned to work and wear gloves and they make it difficult to keep the co-band wrapped properly in intense environments. I guess I am looking for some reassurance that it will get better. It was a nasty cut with a rather large scar. 30 + stitches in all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I m Nick
