What Is The Good Diet To Conceive With Hypothyroidism ?
I am 35yrs old woman with hypothyroidism ( TSH on last blood work= 1.48). I like to conceive. what should be good diet plan for me? Again I noticed that my cervical mucus secretion during sex is less. Does this hamper to get pregnant. I am married for last 1yr 4months
Breif answer: 1. No need of dietary modifications for thyroid disorder 2. No, it wont
Detailed answer:
Hi,
If you are from an iodine sufficient area no dietary modification is needed for thyroid disorder. If not an iodine rich diet with sea foods, iodised salts and milk is needed(avoid raw cabbage cauliflower and tapioca). If you are having hashimotos thyroid disease no diet modifications needed where ever you are. For that I would like to know about your thyroid antibodies value.
If you are planning for pregnancy, you should take a high fibre diet rich in vitamins, calcium
2. Cervical mucous usually will be adequate even though you feel otherwise. It is not a usual cause for infertility.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
