What Is The Half Dollar Size Indentation In My Right Calf Post Birth?

I m a 27 year old female, who just gave birth to my 3rd children 24 hours ago. Noticed a deep, half dollar size indentation in my right calf. Did have some edema during pregnancy, but blood pressure was normal. Had saline and dextrose IV fluids during labor. Can this still be the edema?

Hello,

It is less likely that edema can cause such indentation, it could be just a pulled muscle or an incidental finding now, which might have been present since long. If it is not symptomatic, it should not be a cause of worry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rishma Lakhani, OB & GYN Specialist
