What Is The Ideal Level Of Cholesterol, HDL And LDL?

Hib, amcayk I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... my cholesterol came back at 260 hdl is 51 and ldl 174. I am 5'3" and weigh 145, I eat very healthy and exercise. Cholesterol runs high on both sides of my family. What is the ideal levels for me and should i be very concerned.

Your total cholesterol and LDL levels are considerably high and should be taken care of to avoid future risks of ischemic heart disease.If i am your physician,along with diet,regular exercises would prescribe with statin group drugs(considering your overweight,and family history of hypercholesterolemia) like rosuvastatin 5-10 mg at bed time for 2 weeks initially and try to get back to the ideal values for you,which are total cholesterol below 200 and LDL below 130.I would suggest you to discuss with a local doctor for considering the above prescription.Hope i have answered your query.If any further questions,happy to answer you.Take care.
