What Is The Immediate Relief For Clogged Nose And Mucus In A 11 Month Old?

My daughter is 11 months old. Last night she started out with a clogged nose & was throwing up mucus. Tonight she has the chills, with no fever & still has a stuffed up nose which is now also runny along with her eyes getting goppy eyes. is there anything i can do or just take her straight to the e.r.?

Hello. Thank you for your question. No need for the ER. Looks like she has a viral illness. We have limited options for congestion in this age group. However, you can use saline nose drops followed by bulb suction of the nose to decrease her congestion. Keep the eyes clean with a damp washcloth so as to prevent any bacteria from infecting the eyes. If she develops fever, or the symptoms persist for more than a week, consult your doctor.
