What Is The Intermittent Throbbing In My Eye?

I had a retinal detachment and a scleral buckle surgery about 6 years ago. Lately my eye has been throbbing , but for only a few minutes at a time then it stops. It has been difficult to read since the surgery and that one eye is legally blind. Should i be concerned about the pain ?
