Welcome to HCM. There are always chances of herpes(std) even after touching the already infected genitals. Virus can pass from one person's genitals to another person's mouth, usually causes oral herpes, an infection of the lips and mouth. Symptoms are commonly known as cold sores or fever, blisters. You should avoid having sex if you or your partner has visible sores on the genitals, and you shouldn't receive oral sex from someone who has a sore on his or her mouth. It's important to know that HSV can be contagious even when no symptoms are visible. The common way to find out whether you've got the virus is through genital herpes blood tests. When there's a genital herpes outbreak, a doctor can swab the sores to check for the herpes virus. It is better to consult your doctor for better guidance and plan for investigations and treatment.
