What Is The Logic Behind Wearing Less Power Glasses For Plus Power Patients?

hello Sir, I have plus power in both eyes, After dilute test my power is (R +7.00, L +7.25), I have consulted two doctors and got different response from both of them. First doctor suggested me that we do not give complete power to plus power patient and he suggested me to wear (R +3.0, L +3.75 ). And second doctor suggested me 75% of my original power (i.e R +5.0, L +5.5). So now i am confused. Can you please tell me why the plus power patients need s to wear less power to it s original power ?. If so how much less it sholud be ?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having refractive power for which you are prescribed glasses.
The difference in the refractive power between the two prescriptions is more than 2 dioptre.
Normally full refraction reading should be given for correction and this should be given after dilatation as you are having hypermetropia.
Since the difference is more between the two prescriptions need to get second opinion and should wear full correction which is calculated by dilatation and refraction.

Thank you
