Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My roommate has been snorting pain killers for about three years on and off so they say. What long term damage can this cause? They now complain of throat pain and chest pain. They are having problems going too the bathroom. Also can t swallow without causing extreme pain in throat and chest pain. Can it be dovto snorting pain killers?
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Snorting can irritate and damage your nasal passages in the long run. Snorting painkillers like Vicodin, Oxycontin, Percocet can lead to addiction and chronic use can cause many serous side-effects like coma, seizures, heart failure and even death.
