Hi, this is Chandan, my mother is suffereing from 3rd stage of colon cancer. now 10th cehmo theraphy complited. when completes the 6th cehmo , CEA was 6.6 and after complete the 10th cehmo it is reached to 15.06. My quation Is below : 1) 15% CEA level is good or bad 2) what is the maximum acceptable level ? 3) how to reduce the CEA level having the food please explain me in detail about this. waiting to hearing from you
Normal CEA level ranges from 0-2.5 micrograms per liter . But after chemotherapy if mothers CEA has increased to 15.06 from 6.6 then she may need to second line chemotherapy. I would advise her she does CT scan of whole abdomen and repeat her CEA test after 1 month. Regards DR De
