What Is The Medication For Red Itchy Patches After Cut On Forehead?
Yes please i fell and go a cut on my forehead, did nt go get stiches but i now have a red itchy patch around this cut, went to the urgent care and the said Its infected,so i got anibiotics, yesterday but Its still itches around the cut,can you please tell me why is it itching
Well, from your explanation, it looks like the injury site is infected and inflamed leading to redness and itching around the cut. Antibiotics will help in reducing the infection and the itching and inflammation will gradually subside, however it can take 2-3 days for the appropriate effect of the antibiotics to be seen so please keep calm and continue taking antibiotics.
Along with taking antibiotics you should also apply antibiotic ointment over the injury site. Avoid touching the area again and again also avoid scratching the area as the redness and inflammation will tend to increase.
In case if the itching is severe you can also take antihistamines like Benadryl and do cool compresses over the area to reduce inflammation. In case if it still does not improve or the redness continue to increase in size get checked clinically.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
